The Ontario government is investing $106,244 this year to upgrade and repair infrastructure at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC). This funding aims to ensure that people can access the care they need close to home for years to come.
The funding will help PRHC address urgent infrastructure needs such as upgrading roofs, windows, security and fire alarm systems, and emergency generators.
“On behalf of PRHC’s leadership team and Board of Directors, I thank MPP Dave Smith, Ontario Health, and the Ministry of Health for this targeted infrastructure funding,” said Jennifer Taylor, PRHC’s Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. “Hospitals across the province continue to see increasing costs related to patient volumes and acuity, as well as a growing need for investment into the future of acute care and the broader healthcare system.”
Province-wide, Ontario is investing over $228 million this year to support critical infrastructure upgrades at 129 hospitals and 58 community health care facilities.
