What started as a hobby for Jeannine Stillman has evolved into a full-time endeavour that, since 1997, has seen her and her husband Fred own and operate Stillbrook Riding Stables in Keene.
Featuring two stall barns, an indoor riding arena, two outdoor sand rings and 200 acres of riding trails, Stillbrook teaches riders aged 4 and up, from beginners up to advanced.
Alana Yourkevich is one of two riding coaches on staff. A graduate of Lake Erie College’s reputed equestrian program with a degree in biology and equine science, she is a certified Equestrian Canada instructor and a certified veterinary assistant.
Yourkevich says while riding has always been popular, the pandemic years saw an increase in interest, which spelled good things for Stillbrook.
