Peterborough’s slo-pitch community is mourning the loss of one of the game’s most dedicated advocates and volunteers.
Murray Nugent died November 17th at age 78.
Nugent served as president of Peterborough Weeknight Slo-Pitch for 21 years and, as a coach, player and umpire, was involved with hardball, fastball and slo-pitch. Most recently, he volunteered with the Peterborough Challengers.
In addition, Nugent played goal for the Little Britain Intermediate C hockey team that, in 2003, was inducted into the Lindsay and District Sports Hall of Fame.
