Two individuals face charges following a traffic stop in the City of Kawartha Lakes on Monday.
At around 4pm, OPP pulled over a vehicle on Pigeon Lake Road. During the stop, the officer spoke with both the driver and passenger, leading to an investigation under the Cannabis Control Act.
As a result, a 22-year-old female from Thornhill was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, driving with cannabis readily available, and making a turn not in safety.
A 22-year-old male from Oshawa was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
Both individuals were released with conditions and are scheduled to appear in Lindsay court at a later date.
