An annual celebration of all things reading returns to Peterborough Square this weekend.
With the theme ‘Learn o Be Green Together’, Peterborough Family Literacy Day will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring interactive literacy activities and a free book for each child.
The event will also see the return of Readers’ Theatre featuring a shared reading by local dignitaries, a performance by fiddle musician Irish Millie, and Drag Queen Story Time featuring Betty Baker and Butch.
Serving as honourary chair and emcee is Paul Rellinger. He says the event’s goal is to foster and encourage kids’ love of reading.
