The Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is investigating the discovery of what is believed to be human remains near Fourth Line in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township.
Police advise there will be an increased presence in the area as officers investigate and remove the remains from the scene.
Authorities say there is no threat to public safety but are asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
